Put it this way, of the architecture students I got to know through my husband, I can only remember one having a successful relationship with someone outside of the major.
No longer do you have to spend late nights in the architecture building.
Then I took it down because I wasn’t doing anything with it.Architecture is frequently chosen as the profession for characters in the movies and on TV for the simple reason that there is no downside to the character perception of an architect. They can be all the things you want your hero to be without the baggage that comes along with other vocations typically associated with highly intelligent people. meaning if your character is a doctor, it’s a medical show, lawyer … Architects can do and be the writers of these shows want them to be.So, what should you do to get ready and in shape for the upcoming school year? You want to come back to school in September energized and ready to rock and roll. You actually have time to chill with friends and loved ones who thought you were dead. Why sleep on a floor, cardboard box or dirty drafting table when you can blissfully rest in your own bed, without the guilt? One aspect of that topic that I haven’t delved into is the perception of the architect. The general consensus is that architects are intelligent, honorable, stylish (e.g. the plus side of being an artist without the “starving” precursor.Furthermore, when looking for that perfect partner, it’s not all about where they are right now financially; the important thing is that they have a solid, well balanced and educated financial mind-set which will stand them in good stead in the future.Would you rather be with somebody who doesn’t plan for the future, or somebody who does; and as you know, architects are master planners and can execute those plans with precision. Now, I’m posting it again because my husband is (fingers crossed) just a few short months away from completing his Intern Development Program (IDP) and getting his architecture license.A little background first: Husband and I started dating toward the end of his 3rd year at Cal Poly.Students from Berkeley* (or most other four-year programs) pretty much have to get a two-year Master’s degree before they’re really prepared to work in the field.
