Many of the dating and personal relationship safeguards of years gone by seem to have been cast aside.Assuming that dating is appropriate under certain conditions, the next question is, “Does the Bible forbid dating an unbeliever?Have faith and love, and enjoy the companionship of those who love the Lord and have pure hearts." It is unwise to date someone who doesn't love God. "Don't be teamed with those who do not love the Lord, for what do the people of God have in common with the people of sin? And what harmony can there be between Christ and the devil?
This appears to be clearly indicated in 1 Corinthians .
How men and women view a "date" and "dating" can have a profound effect on their future.
"Dating" is not a relationship, it is a method people employ in our culture to get to know others of the opposite sex that was not employed in Biblical times.
One could certainly ask, “If a Christian cannot marry an unbeliever, why would they ever date one? I think one can have a friendship relationship with an unbeliever of the opposite sex, without entering into a dating relationship.
"For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;" 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 ESV "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.
